OREANDA-NEWS. January 3, 2012. Peter Demchenkov, General Director of ALIDI Group, a leading Russian distribution and logistics company, became the winner of “Entrepreneur Of The Year”, organized by Ernst & Young. Now he will represent the Russian Federation in the final stage of the contest of the world's best entrepreneurs, that will take place in May 2012 in Monte Carlo.

“Entrepreneur Of The Year” is regarded as the most prestigious and well-known international entrepreneurial contest. The contest identifies entrepreneurs who have made the important contributions to the development of a certain sector of the national economy.

In 2011 the application process for the award was effected in 3 stages. At the first stage Peter Demchenkov, Applicant of ALIDI, was interviewed by Dmitrii Babiner, Head of legal and tax department of Ernst & Young. The meeting of participants and independent panel of judges was organized as the second stage. As the result, on October 6, judges selected 34 finalists. Also they determined the list of nominations of 2011, including Transport and Logistics, IT, Services, Industrial business and etc. The international “Entrepreneur Of The Year” Award has been held by Ernst & Young for 23 years. The geography of the contest now covers more than 135 cities in 50 countries. Russia joined the “Entrepreneur Of The Year” contest in 2003.
