Jamshedpur: HM Nerurkar, managing director, Tata Steel, has been conferred with the CEO of the Year Award-2011by Indian Institute of Materials Management (IIMM), today, at a function held at the Beldih Club. The award was handed over to Mr Nerurkar by Shivaji Sinha, chairman, Jamshedpur branch, IIMM, amidst the CEOs and senior executives of various companies and other eminent personalities of Jamshedpur.

IIMM honours eminent personalities for their positive contribution towards the development of the nation every year. This year the institute honoured HM Nerurkar, managing director, Tata Steel, for his outstanding contribution towards national development through effective and efficient supply chain management, as a leader of private sector industry. Azim Premji, Naveen Jindal, JJ Irani and B Muthuraman, Ashok Sinha, Rajiv Bajaj et al are some of the earlier recipients of this prestigious award.

While receiving the award, Mr Nerurkar said, “I consider myself to be honoured and priviledged to receive such a prestigious award. I would like to appreciate IIMM’s endeavours of keeping a subject like material management quite active and popular in Jamshedpur. However, I must mention that it wouldn’t have been possible for me to make this achievement without the thorough support of my colleagues who have always stood by me under every circumstance. I thank IIMM for considering me worthy of receiving this prestigious award.”

IIMM is the prime professional institution for professionals of supply chain management in India since the last 40 years. It has a wide network of 45 branches and 19 chapters all over the country.
