OREANDA-NEWS. January 10, 2012. China crude steel output stood at 49.88 million tons in November, a reduction of 0.6 percent from a year earlier and 8.8 percent from October.

This marked the first year-on-year decline this year and the sixth consecutive monthly fall. The National Development and Reform Commission estimated the whole yearбпs production at some 680 million tons.

The CISA CSPI steel price index fell to the year-low of 122.33 points at the end of November, down 0.39 point from a month ago and 2.95 points year-on-year.

The steel service body attributed the slowdown in steel demand to the mixture of the poor external climate and seasonal reasons.
