Our team will work closely together as One Mazda to achieve our goals of bringing satisfaction and pleasure to our patients, achieving the further development and stability of the hospital, and ensuring that the hospital is a happy environment for our staff."

The new hospital wing is a part of the hospital's renovation plans, designed to make a further contribution to the local community with medical services, and construction commenced in September 2010. Medical equipment will be installed to prepare for the start of operation, and patient treatment at the new wing is scheduled to begin on January 30, 2012.

The new wing is constructed on a plot of land on the north side of Mazda Hospital's main building. The new wing has eight floors aboveground and a basement floor. Emergency treatment space and the diagnostic imaging department are located on the first floor, with five operating rooms and the pharmacy on the second floor. The third through to seventh floors are in-patient wards with a total of 270 beds. A clinic for medical checkups is located on the eighth floor.

Space per bed is enlarged to approximately 9 square meters and there are 40 private rooms in the new wing to improve in-patients' comfort. Additionally, a series of large medical equipment including computer tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) equipment have been upgraded, and together with the 7 new high care units (HCU), will be used to enhance the emergency and medical treatment service and functions provided by the hospital. The area for the medical checkup center has been doubled to approximately 1,200 square meters compared with the previous clinic, and equipment for medical checkups has also been increased to improve convenience.

Following the completion of construction of the new wing, renovation of the existing buildings will begin in February, and all renovation work is scheduled to be completed by spring 2013.
