OREANDA-NEWS. January 11, 2012. Rostelecom has received a conformity certificate for the quality management system (QMS) of the merged company in compliance with the ISO 9001:2008 international standard. The certificate was issued by one of the most authoritative foreign certification agencies AFNOR Certification (France). At the same time, Rostelecom received a certificate from international certification network IQNet, which is recognized in 154 countries across the world.

The certificates are applicable to the quality management system used in the Corporate Center and in all branches of the company in designing, developing, building and providing telecom services and broadcasting.

Having an ISO 9001:2008 certificate points to Rostelecom’s ability to provide services consistent with the growing requirements of consumers, and assist the company in achieving efficient and successful business growth, which is important in order to conquer and maintain leadership positions in various market segments.

QMS certification of the merged Rostelecom has been conducted for the first time after the seven regional telecom operators and Dagsvyazinform were folded into the national operator.

The innovative approaches to QMS which are being used at the merged company aim to meet the requirements and expectations of all interested parties, and to enhance business processes so as to achieve sustainable success in the long-term outlook.

According to Rostelecom CEO Alexander Provotorov, “a positive assessment of the conformity of the quality management system to international standards was performed by independent experts, which shows that the company’s business processes are sustainable and efficient. This will make it possible for us to provide all user categories with the highest service quality”, Alexander Provotorov pointed out.

The AFNOR international group of companies has been operating on the international market for over 80 years, working out standards, conducting training and certification.

The IQNet international certification network is a private, non-commercial organization which combines 37 leading certification bodies which operate in 33 countries, with leadership in management system certification.
