OREANDA-NEWS. January 12, 2012. The share of loss-making companies in Belarus increased to 7.6% (661 entities) of the total number as of November 1, 2011 from 6.6% as of November 1, 2010, an official with the National Statistics Committee told.

Their net loss doubled to 4.283 trillion Belarusian rubles (Br).

The return on sales in January-October 2011 was at 13.2%, up from 7.9% in January-October 2010.

In the manufacturing sector, the share of loss-makers was at 11.4% as of November 1, 2011, down from 12% the previous year. The profitability of manufactured commodity sales reached 16.8% from 8.5% the year before.

The share of loss-makers in the construction sector rose to 14.3% in October 2011 from 6.5% last year. The return on construction product sales went down to 5.3% as of November 1, 2011 from 8.3% the year before.

In agriculture, the share of loss-making enterprises was at 1.4% as of November 1, 2011, up from 1.4%. Profitability of sold products rose to 11.8% from 5.8%.

The share of loss-makers in the transportation sector stood at 4.2% as of November 1, 2011, up from 3.5% as of November 1, 2010. The profitability rate in that real economy sector dropped to 8.6% from 10.4% in January-October 2010.
