OREANDA-NEWS. January 16, 2012. The tourism industry in Ukraine was actively developed throughout 2011: there carried out certification of accommodation, there was ranking of hotel complexes, new hotels were opened.

According the State Agency of Ukraine for Tourism and Resorts, now in Ukraine there are 2,573 certified accommodation facilities, of which 503 have a category.

Thus, in Ukraine there are 15 five star accommodation facilities, four-star - 77, three-star - 215, two-star – 100, one-star - 96, 2070 accommodations have no categories.

In general, the largest number of certified accommodation facilities located in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, including Sevastopol - them here are 496. The Crimea has a 2-star accommodation, 4 - four-star, 29 - three-star, 7 - two-star, 3 - star, all others - not categorized.

Among the leaders in number of certified accommodation facilities - Odessa region, where there are 294 hotels, of which five-star - 2, four-star - 9, three-star - 11, two-star  - 5, one-star - 6.

In the Lviv region there are 233 certified accommodation facilities: 1 five-star, 11 four-star, 31 three-star, 10 two-star and 5 one-star.

In Ukraine there are 94 hotels that already have existing Certificate on establishment of a category of hotel function. Of these, five star hotels - 3, four-star - 13, three-star - 66, two-star - 8, one-star - 4.

In cities that will host the European Football Championship 2012, in 2011 there are commissioned 12 hotels: generally they have 975 rooms in 2044 locations. Of these 2 hotels are positioned as five stars, three - four stars, 6 - three stars and 1- not categorized.

In addition, the amount of the licensed tourist operators has increased in 2011. In Ukraine, there are 2,426 active licenses for conducting this type of activity: 2035 - for the tour operator activities of domestic, inbound and outbound tourism and the 391 - to the tour operator activities only with domestic and inbound tourism. Most tour operators have licenses in Kyiv - 1221, in Odessa region - 157 licenses, in Lviv region - 149 licenses, in the Crimea - 226 licenses.
