OREANDA-NEWS. January 19, 2012. Agricultural holding HarvEast invested UAH 82.6m to buy mineral fertilizers for string sowing season. In total, the company purchased over 22,000 tons of fertilizers: ammonia nitrate, carbamide and ammonium nitrate phosphate.

To buy the fertilizers, Harveast organized a tender and chose Agrotsenr Eurochem Ukraine as majority supplier as it offered the best combination of price, quality and payment conditions.

During the autumn sowing season HarvEast Holding sowed 82,000 hectares of winter wheat, around 8,000 hectares of winter barley and over 1,000 hectares of winter rye and triticale.

Mineral and organic fertilizers were applied onto the soil during the sowing.

HarvEast Holding is an agricultural holding, which owns and manages assets in Donetsk, Zaporozhye, Zhytomir Oblasts and Crimea. The Holding's major areas of focus include: crop raising (wheat, sunflower, barley, permanent grasses and corn) and dairy farming.

HarvEast Holding was established on 10 March 2011 and evolved from the assets previously owned by Ilyich Steel Plant (Mariupol, Donetsk Oblast, Ukraine). The overall bank of farmland makes around 220,000 hectares and total livestock will exceed 30,000 heads.

The shareholders of HarvEast Holding are the SCM Group and Smart Holding.
