OREANDA-NEWS. On Friday, January 27th, 2012, the University of Tartu again holds an open door day for entrepreneurs. This year, the focus is on all the services the university offers to empower businesses’ research and development projects, reported the press-centre of University of Tartu.

Transparency changing glass
Erik Puura, Head of UT business liaison and innovation says the previous two open door days have been very successful. „We have made quite a progress in co-operation with small and medium sized businesses active in very different fields, for example energy efficient building, robotics and  timber dehydration."

„This year, the focus is on services. The university’s machinery has improved a lot in the last couple of years, primarily thanks to EU funds. How it is possible to use it for business goals, that’s what we are showing on January 27th," says Puura.

In addition to training services, an overview of development, consultancy, analysis and testing services will be given at the oped door day. Entrepreneurs can contact university business liaison officers and start new co-operation projects on the spot. There will also be an internship workshop, where students will show what they have to offer for businesses.

The working language of the day is Estonian, but personal contacts can be made in English. The event is free of charge for all participants. Register at peep.purje@ut.ee.

See you Friday, January 27th in Tartu, UT Institute of Technology (Nooruse St. 1), starting from 10.30am!
