OREANDA-NEWS.  January 23, 2012. Sergey Galstyan, Head of ZAO KAMAZ Armenia Joint Venture, visited KAMAZ.

During the visit, the guest got acquainted with the processing chain for production of KAMAZ compressed gas vehicles which are manufactured by KAMAZ’s official partner – OOO RariTEK. Also, Sergey Galstyan was shown the line-up of compressed gas vehicles, including a garbage truck based on KAMAZ-4308 chassis powered with a gas engine complying with Euro 5 environmental standards. This vehicle has already twice showed its advantages participating in auto races Czech Republic – Germany (950 km) and Yekaterinburg – Moscow (3,500 km). New CNG vehicles produced jointly with KAMAZ always participates in races. So, all systems of these vehicles are practically tested under actual operating conditions. All KAMAZ vehicles running on methane are produced serially and have got all necessary certificates and vehicle type approvals.

Armenia’s interest in CNG vehicles is connected with the growth of demand for vehicles fuelled by compressed natural gas (methane). Thus, in 2011 Armenia took 14th place in the world’s gas engine statistics. In addition to that, the fleet of CNG vehicles increased by 241% to 244,000 units, the number of CNG fuelling stations grew by 125% to 345 units, which is more than in Ukraine.
