OREANDA-NEWS. January 24, 2012. UTair Aviation is ranking among Russia's three leading airlines based on 2011 results. The company has demonstrated strong growth in its operational results.

In 2011 UTair Group aircraft (including UTair Aviation (Russia), UTair Express (Russia), UTair-Ukraine (Ukraine), UTair-Cargo (Russia), Turukhan Airlines (Russia), Nefteyugansk (Russia), Vostok (Russia), Helisur (Peru), UTair Europe (Slovakia), UTair South Africa Ltd (South Africa) and UTair India (India), transported more than 6.750 million passengers, a YoY increase of 31.1%.  According to the Transport Clearing House the Russian industry average for growth in passengers transported stands at 12.5%.

Other airline performance indicators saw growth as well. The UTair January-December 2011 passenger turnover constituted 12,422,383.6 PKM, an increase of 38.3% over same period in 2010 and surpassing the 13.2% industry average for growth in this indicator.

In total, UTair Group fixed wing aircraft logged 257,961 flight hours in 2011, 24.5% more than last year. UTair Group aircraft delivered 19,330.5 tons of cargo, 25.7% more than for 2010 and 4,944.6 tons of mail, 27.7% more than for 2010.

UTair Group helicopters logged a total of 139,580 flight hours, 15.3% more than for the same reporting period last year. UTair helicopters transported 157,250.4 tons of cargo, an increase of 11.3%.
