OREANDA-NEWS. January 26, 2012. Belarus’ local authorities and Minsk City Hall are set to introduce new rates of the single tax for private entrepreneurs, which will vary depending on the region, a senior official of the Tax Ministry of Belarus told a press-conference on Wednesday.

The guideline document for the single tax is the Tax Code of Belarus, which puts a ceiling on the tax rates, leaving it for the local authorities to adjust the rates, depending on the territory, the type of business and other conditions.

Belarus’ consolidated budget scooped Br53.8 trillion in tax proceeds in 2011 (USD 6.4 billion at the rate of the National Bank of Belarus), 12.8% less than in 2010. The tax register of Belarus counts over 100,000 companies and around 250,000 private entrepreneurs.
