OREANDA-NEWS. January 27, 2012. Steel output of Zhlobin-based Belarusian Metallurgical Plant (BMZ) amounted to 2.607 million tonnes in 2011, up 3% on the year, an official with the plant told reporters Thursday.

Rolled stock output increased 4.7% to 2.197 million tonnes, and pipe output rose 20.8% to 117,188 tonnes.

Metal cord output went up 1.3% to 94,070 tonnes. Steel cord output rose 20.9% to 19,352 tonnes.

Bead wire output amounted to 33,458 tonnes, up 11.8% year-on-year.

State company Belarusian Metallurgical Plant was launched in 1984. BMZ exports about 85% of its output. Non-CIS countries account for more than 70% of the BMZ’s exports.
