OREANDA-NEWS. January 31, 2012. RUSNANO project company RMT Ltd announced that it has launched serial production of thermoelectric cooling micromodules. The company’s manufacturing facility is in Nizhny Novgorod at the Ankudinovka technopark.

RMT has set target capacity in 2015 at two million thermoelectric cooling micromodules, which is around 10 percent of the elements currently produced worldwide. The company plans to manufacture 500,000 micromodules in 2012.

Thermoelectric micromodules from RMT are used to cool lasers, photo detectors, and integrated circuits. The company’s latest advances make it possible to manufacture the more powerful elements that are in demand from companies working at the vanguard of telecommunications, computers, and optoelectronics.

A large percentage of RMT’s products are sold for export. Its principal customers work in highly developed opto-, micro-, and nanoelectronics, largely in the United States, Europe, and Southeast Asia.

The total budget for the project is 800 million rubles of which RUSNANO is financing 150 million rubles. S-Group Ventures, a closed-end venture capital fund established with the participation of Russian Venture Company, is the co-investor. RMT opened preproduction facilities in Moscow in May 2011.
