OREANDA-NEWS.  February 1, 2012.  The total consolidated revenue of TEO LT, AB Group, the largest provider of integrated telecommunication, IT and TV services in Lithuania, during 2011 amounted to LTL 750 million, and net profit for the period amounted to LTL 154 million. EBITDA for the year 2011 was LTL 302 million, EBITDA margin – 40.3 per cent.

In 2010, TEO Group’s revenue amounted to LTL 773 million, and net profit amounted to LTL 163 million. EBITDA for the year 2010 was 310 million, while EBITDA margin – 40.1 per cent.

"Last year can be called the year of technological development, successful investments and new services. TEO investments in the next-generation fiber-optic network have made these technologies available not only to the vast majority of the population in the country's big cities, but in smaller towns as well. These investments are already bearing fruit – we see that not only in the constantly improving customer feedback, but also in a more than one-third increase in the number of fiber-optic Internet users. With the approaching date of analogue TV shutdown,  TEO paid special focus on the development of interactive television services – they are and will be exclusive in the future", - Arunas Рikрta, General Manager of TEO, said when commenting on the activity results.
At the end of 2011, TEO fiber-optic (FTTH) Internet access services were available for use to 705 thousand or 59 per cent of the country’s residents, while at the end of 2010 – 556 thousand.

During the year the number of fiber-optic Internet access users increased by 35.1 per cent – up to almost 140 thousand. The number of the Company's television service users increased by 15.2 per cent and at the end of the year amounted to 151 thousand. The total number of main telephone lines in service was 648 thousand.

There was a particularly rapid growth – 31.8 per cent – in revenues from IT services. Their share from total amount of TEO Group’s revenue for the year 2011 amounted to 6.3 per cent. Share of revenue from Internet and data communications services from total amount of revenue amounted to 33.7 per cent, voice telephony services – 49.9 per cent, television services – 6.3 per cent and other services – 3.6 per cent of total revenue of TEO Group for the year 2011.

"The economic situation in the world, as well as in Lithuania, forces us to pay special attention to increasing the efficiency of processes and reducing operating expenses. The Lithuanian telecommunications market last year continued to be turbulent – over the year it fell by more than 7 per cent. In this context, the results produced by TEO can be considered excellent – its revenue fell by just 3 per cent, while as regards profitability indicators – the Company managed to maintain and even improve them", – A. Рikрta said.

According to the data of the Communications Regulatory Authority of the Republic of Lithuania for the third quarter of 2011, TEO market share of the Internet access services market in terms of revenue amounted to 39.6 per cent, while TEO market share in terms of revenue from digital television services was 43.9 per cent. In the third quarter of 2011 TEO market share in terms of revenue from fixed telephony services was 92.9 per cent. According to the data of the Communications Regulatory Authority (CRA), the country's whole electronic communications market during the nine months of 2011, compared with the same period of 2010, shrunk by 7.7 per cent.

During 2011 the Company allocated LTL 156 million for investments. The majority of investments (LTL 138 million) went into the development of the next-generation fiber-optic access network. The remaining part was invested into the development of IT systems, transportation, and renovation of buildings.
