OREANDA-NEWS. February 07, 2012. In Crimea, it has been presented a draft of development of the west coast of the Autonomous Republic. The project was presented as part of a workshop on priority issues of tourism and resorts in the Crimea with the participation of vice Prime Minister of Ukraine - Infrastructure Minister Borys Kolesnikov and Chairman of the Council of Ministers of Crimea Anatoly Mogilev. The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the State Agency of Ukraine for Tourism and Resorts Olena Shapovalova, CEO of the Ukrzaliznytsya Volodymyr Kozak, MPs and representatives of the Council of Ministers.

At present it has been curried zoning of the coast, calculated the required investments, developed the concept and recommendations for the development of the coast, analyzed the competitive advantages and disadvantages of the region. Prospects for the development of Western Crimea is caused by the presence of large inventory of recreational, medical resources and climate, historical and cultural heritage, the availability of free land, where can be placed infrastructure, convenient transport interchange.

According to preliminary estimates the project need about USD 5 billion of which 1.2 billion is planned to receive from the State Budget of Ukraine.

Borys Kolesnikov noted that as the primary measures to create modern infrastructure in Western Crimea it has to be completed modernization of the highway Evpatoria - Simferopol (airport) to hire highly skilled managers at the public enterprise "Western Crimea," which coordinates the actions of all agencies on the development of the region and to develop a master development plan of region. "I commend the First Deputy Chair of the Council of Ministers Pavlo Burlakov and the State Agency of Ukraine for Tourism and Resorts to develop a road map. Next week we will meet with President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych invite at a meeting Crimean leadership - and it will be the official start of the project. Furthermore, we have immediately to begin planning and preparing feasibility study of route Simferopol - Evpatoria" - said vice Prime Minister of Ukraine.

Thus, Borys Kolesnikov focused attention on the need for transparent procedures for allocation of land areas for investors, but also he said that the Government will provide support in establishing soundproofed bands on the railroad in Evpatoria, reconstruction of heat and water supply. "We are, above all, interested in a transparent mechanism for the allocation of land and facilitating the work of investors. The only way to create on the West Coast of the Crimea a resort of the world class"- vice Prime Minister of Ukraine said.
