OREANDA-NEWS.  February 07, 2012. The Safer Internet Academy organised for the fourth year began its tour around Lithuania on Tuesday. In twelve towns, lecturers will present lectures focusing on the dangers and threats of virtual life, and teach students to avoid them together with their parents and grandparents.

 The Centre of Information Technologies of Education under the Ministry of Education and Science, the Communications Regulatory Authority and TEO LT, AB will launch the project on Tuesday, on the Safer Internet Day, which is promoted in sixty five countries of the world. The theme of the Day this year taking place all over Europe will be “Connecting generations – discover the digital world together, safely!"

It is anticipated that a total of 180 lectures to be organised by May 25 will be attended by about 4.5 thousand of students who will be awarded special diplomas of the Safer Internet Academy graduates.

The Safer Internet Academy is organised since 2009 and has already visited 23 towns of the country, with about 6 thousand of students and their parents attending the lectures.
