OREANDA-NEWS.  February 07, 2012. Cargo handling at the port Temryuk in January 2012 decreased by 16.8% year-on-year, to 172,810 tons, the Port Authority statistics said.

In the reporting period, the port of Kavkaz saw a 16.7 percent decline from a year earlier in outbound cargo, to 165,570 tons, and a 46.5 percent drop in inbound goods, to 4,810 tons.

Short sea traffic volume totaled 2,430 tons. The number of calls was down 38.1% to 52 vessels.

Port of Temryuk is located on the Taman seashore of the Azov Sea. The berths of total length of 1,200 rm are equipped for handling general cargoes, round timber, lumber, food products, metals and oversized cargoes.  In 2011, cargo traffic at the port of Temryuk rose to 2.34 million tons (vs 1.95mln in 2010).
