OREANDA-NEWS.  February 13, 2012.  Providing support for national exports in the world and in Russia was the main theme of the International Conference “Insurance Support for Exports. World Experience. New Opportunities”. The Conference was held in Moscow. Vnesheconombank and the Export Insurance Agency of Russia with the assistance of the International Union of Credit and Investment Insurers (the Berne Union) acted as the Conference’s organizers.

Russian First Deputy Prime Minister Igor Shuvalov, Vnesheconombank Chairman Vladimir Dmitriev and Berne Union President Johan Shriver gave their welcome addresses to the Conference’s participants.

In the attendance of the Conference were representatives of export credit agencies from the Czech Republic, Sweden, Great Britain, Italy, France, Finland, Norway, Greece, Croatia, Bosnia, Herzegovina, Estonia, Kazakhstan, Ukraine, Belarus and others, Russian exporter companies, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation.

The Conference’s participants discussed issues of government policy in supporting national exports in Russia, prospects for enhancing insurance of export credits and investments against entrepreneurial and political risks in the context of setting up the Export Insurance Agency of Russia.

They also discussed the world’s current trends in developing export credit insurance, its role in the situation of the global financial crisis, business experience in supporting exports in the countries with developing economies, opportunities for further cooperation in providing support for exports, mechanisms for interaction between export credit agencies and credit institutions and other issues.
