OREANDA-NEWS. February 15, 2012. The Bank of East Asia (“BEA”) announces that it has entered into agreements with The Link Management Limited ("The Link”) and the MTR Corporation to expand automated teller machine (“ATM”) services at 30 shopping centres managed by The Link and seven MTR stations in Hong Kong, reported the press-centre of BEA.

A total of 43 ATMs will be installed by BEA at these locations in the first half of 2012, which will bring the total number of ATMs operated by BEA to more than 240 in Hong Kong. This is the most significant expansion of BEA’s ATM network since the Bank completed the installation of ATMs in 23 public hospitals in June 2011.

Of the 30 shopping centres managed by The Link, 29 are located in public and Home Ownership Scheme (“HOS”) housing estates. With the installation of the new units, BEA’s ATM network in public and HOS housing estates will double to 58.

To enhance its service coverage, BEA will also install ATMs in the MTR’s Lo Wu, Tin Shui Wai, Tsing Yi, Mong Kok, Olympic, Kowloon Bay, and Hang Hau stations. “We are pleased to announce this substantial expansion of our ATM network, which further enhances customer accessibility to our wide range of banking services throughout Hong Kong,” says Mr. Simon Lau, General Manager & Head of Personal Banking Division at BEA.
