OREANDA-NEWS. February 16, 2012. The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine will prepare a series of decisions to facilitate development of IT-sector in Ukraine. This was informed by the Prime Minister of Ukraine Mykola Azarov during consultations on the development of information technologies in Ukraine.

According to the PM, as a result of meeting with the rectors of leading national higher educational establishments and representatives of IT-companies it will be considered all announced suggestions on quality enhancing of training specialists in informational technologies area and adopted the relevant decisions of the Cabinet. "There was voiced a number of proposals to be considered and implemented," assured Mykola Azarov.

Thus, the Government has agreed with the proposal of rectors of higher educational institutions on the need to reduce loading on teaching staff - to reduce the standards on the number of students per teacher. "Especially for those universities that train IT-specialists, we will prepare the decision of the Government to provide loading reduction by quantity of students on the teacher," Mykola Azarov stated.

In addition, he said, the Cabinet of Ministers intends to simplify customs procedures when importing from abroad of software and computer hardware for higher educational establishments: "If you being imported equipment for the institutes on a charitable basis, then there should be no problems." Thus, Mykola Azarov stressed that a problem of mandatory customs duties upon importation from abroad of equipment would be solved.

However, the Prime Minister has informed that Government is ready to increase the state order to higher educational institutions to expand the base of training specialists for the IT-industry. According to him, it is necessary to revise the structure of training of specialists: "The economy is developing, modernizing and therefore requires other type specialists than we are preparing. That is why the Ministry of Education and Science, Youth and Sports planning together with the Ministry of Economic Development and Trade the state order, it should be clearly determined: what kind specialists we need and in what quantity."

Thus, Mykola Azarov emphasized that in the process of preparing IT-specialists it is extremely important issue of participation business: "The State allocates funds for the training of specialists, but where is our business that practically at 60% manages all industry of the country. Therefore, we think about how to attract our businessmen to such programs."

The Prime Minister also noted that the Government would explore the possibility of implementation in domestic higher educational institutions of special education programs for the students studying information technology. This proposal was made by the representative of the "Microsoft" company in Ukraine Dmytro Shimkiv. He particularly noted that the "Microsoft" company is ready to propose the project of setting up of IT-Academy in Ukraine.
