OREANDA-NEWS. February 21, 2012. Uzbekistan is planning to purchase another 100 buses of Mercedes-Benz to serve citizens of Tashkent, the Uzbek Agency for Automobile and River Transport said.

According to the agency, the project was included to investment programme of Uzbekistan for 2012.

The document said that Fund for Reconstruction and Development of Uzbekistan will issue loan for US.9 million to purchase buses.

It is worth to mention that over 1,000 buses of Mercedes-Benz brand and 670 Isuzu buses, produced at Samarkand Automobile Plant, are used in Tashkent to serve local population.

Enterprises of Toshshahartranshizmat (Tashkent city transportation service) serve about 1.5 million passengers a day. The association also has special service center, which maintain passenger buses of Mercedes-Benz.
