OREANDA-NEWS. February 24, 2012. Tata Power’s Belgaum plant celebrated completion of the first 1,000 days without injuries at its plant. On February 7, 2012, Tata Power's Belgaum plant crossed 1,103 days without any lost work day case due to injury and accidents at the plant.

It has achieved this safety track record through excellent teamwork and commitment from the employees, including contract employees. Various initiatives to build a safety culture has been undertaken at the plant. Special care has been taken to ensure adherence to the safety standards of the company.

Congratulating the employees, Balaraja K Bhat, head, Belgaum plant, said, “At Tata Power safety is paramount. We believe that this is a good beginning for the Belgaum plant and aim to become one of the best plants in the country in institutionalising safety measures.”

Navaneeth Mohan N, senior assistant director of factories, Belgaum-2, was present on the occasion as chief guest. Congratulating the workforce for this unique achievement he said, “Safe working is only possible through the sincere efforts of employees and we have to keep up this positive attitude to emerge as industry best.”
