OREANDA-NEWS. February 27, 2012. Belarusian foreign trade deficit amounted to USD 2.182 billion in 2011, compared to USD 7.455 billion in January-December 2010, shrinking by 70.7%, according to the website of the National Bank of Belarus.

Overall turnover of commodities and services reached USD 94.435 billion in January-December 2011, up 40.4% on the year.

Exports of commodities and services rose 54.2% to USD 46.126 billion, and imports increased 29.3% to USD 48.309 billion.

Commodity trade deficit reached USD 4.261 billion in 2011 to compare with USD 9.078 billion in 2010 (USD 40.865 billion of exports, up 60.9% on the year, and USD 45.126 billion of imports, up 30.9%), and service trade surplus amounted to USD 2.078 billion, up 28.1% on year (USD 5.261 billion of exports, up 16.9%, and USD 3.183 million of imports, up 10.6%).
