OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2012. On 32nd session of Committee of appointed representatives from participant countries to “Agreement on Civil Aviation and the Use of Air Space", by Board decision, the national airline of Republic of Moldova – state airline Air Moldova was awarded with a Diploma “For achievement in aviation security field”, reported the press-centre of Air Moldova.

The Diploma was offered by the President of the Inter-governmental Aviation Committee (IAC) to Air Moldova representative – Mr. Alexei Grosu (Chief-pilot-instructor, Head of Flights Safety Division).

The aword from executive budy of the IAC for moldavian flag carrier’s achievments for 20 years period in aviation safety, reprezent an high apresiation for all workers from Air Moldova airline.

In the report that was read on the session about the situation for 20 years of flights safety in civil aviation of states-member of “Agreement on Civil Aviation and the Use of Air Space" was stated, that “ as one of the must important criterias of floghts safety is passing Iata Operations Safety Audit and receiving the IOSA certificate. The IOSA certificate is heald at the moment only by top airlines from participant states, IATA members, the fact that confirms their international status.”

In 2008 Air Moldova had been included in IOSA Registry which contains a list of all the operators who have met the IOSA standards. In the period of 27.06.2011-01.07.2011 Air Moldova had undergone an IATA Operational Safety Audit (IOSA) reaching compliance in different operational areas like: Management and Control including Safety and Quality Systems, Flight, Dispatch, Maintenance, Cabin, Ground Handling, Cargo and Security Operations. Thus Air Moldova obtained outstanding results.

The Inter-governmental Aviation Committee (IAC) was created basing on the intergovernmental "Agreement on Civil Aviation and the Use of Airspace", signed on 30.12.1991. According to this agreement IAC is defined as the Executive Body for 12 States of the former USSR that delegates functions and powers in the field of civil aviation and airspace use. Parties to this Agreement are: Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyztan, Republic of Moldova, Russian Federation, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan and Ukraine.
