OREANDA-NEWS. February 28, 2012. Earlier, ICBC Beijing Branch launched a new service for customers to transfer money at self-service devices using passbook, as announced by the Branch. ICBC customers using passbook are no longer restricted by the outlets' business hour or location. Anytime they can transfer money at any self-service device that can read passbook, reported the press-centre of ICBC.

The new service allows customers holding ICBC passbook to transfer or remit money to ICBC accounts in the same city or other cities. Also there is 40% discount on the transfer fee when compared to that at the counter. Since the launch of the service, over 10,000 such transfers went through self-service devices.

In recent years, ICBC Beijing Branch steps up the effort to add convenience across its self-service channels in a bid to improve customer experience. In 2011, the Branch has installed 600+ new self-service devices equipped with the function, adding the total to more than 1500. In terms of the number, ICBC Beijing Branch has the highest number of self-service devices in Beijing, a total of 4600+ so far. The Branch's self-service channels have covered all the districts/counties in Beijing. In particular, ICBC self-service devices are available in Beijing's transportation hubs, colleges/universities, hospitals/medical institutions, large residential communities, commercial centers, and all MTR stations of Line 4. As a "Bank around You", ICBC self-service devices provide financial services 24 hours a day.

Meanwhile, ICBC Beijing Branch adds numerous bill payment functions for all to enjoy faster and more convenient financial services. At present, ICBC cardholders can use ICBC self-service devices to perform all essential bank transactions: transfer/remit money, pay utility bills (water, electricity, gas), telecommunication fee or traffic fines, top up QuickPass cards. For ICBC customers using passbook, at ICBC self-service devices they can transfer money, pay utility bills (water, electricity, gas) or telecommunication fee.
