OREANDA-NEWS.  February 29, 2012. In January-December 2011, the industrial output of Uzbekistan made up 41.656 trillion soums or grew by 6.3% compared to January-December 2010, the State Statistics Committee of Uzbekistan said.

In the reporting period, consumer goods were produced to the amount of 14.926 trillion soums (+11% compared to January-December 2010), of which food products were produced to the amount of 6.609 trillion soums (+13.8%), and non-food products - to the amount of 8.317 trillion soums (+8.8%).

Fuel industry (17.5% of total industrial output), machinery and metal processing (16.1%), food industry (14%) and light industry (13.5%) accounted largest share in total industrial production of Uzbekistan in the reporting period.

At the same time, the share of fuel industry fell by 1.7 percentage point year-on-year. Share of light industry grew by 1.4 percentage points and food industry by 0.1 percentage points, the committee said.

In particular, fuel industry produced goods for 7.298 trillion soums (+0.3%), machinery and metal processing – 6.714 trillion soums (+12.2%), light industry – 5.63 trillion soums (+4.7%) and food industry – 5.814 trillion soums (+13.1%).
