OREANDA-NEWS. February 29, 2012. India's largest integrated private power utility Tata Power’s Belgaum power station organised an anti-plastic campaign in association with the Karnataka State Pollution Control Board (KSPCB) and Love Dale Central School, Belgaum.

This initiative from Tata Power’s Belgaum plant was organised to encourage environment conservation by reducing the usage of plastic materials. The anti-plastic campaign saw the distribution of 200 jute bags to the students of Love Dale Central School and their parents. An informative slide show on the ill effects of the usage of plastics was presented by the officials of Tata Power’s Belgaum plant.

Speaking on the campaign, BK Bhat, plant manager, Tata Power Belgaum, said, “We are delighted with the success of this initiative. The response received has been very positive. We would like to thank KSPCB and Love Dale Central School for all their support and cooperation. We will continue organising such initiatives for the betterment of our society.”

The event was held in the premises of Love Dale Central School and was attended by the principal and the staff members of the school, environment officers from KSPCB, and other officials from Tata Power Belgaum division.
