OREANDA-NEWS. February 29, 2012. Power Machines OJSC and Direkcia edinogo zakaza OJSC, member of State Atomic Energy Corporation "Rosatom", signed contracts to produce and supply a complete set of turbogenerator equipment and two driving turbines for the fourth power unit being built at Rostovskaya NPP.

Under the terms of the contracts Power Machines are to manufacture and supply a TVV-1000-4UZ turbogenerator having a capacity increased up to 1,100 MW together with an excitation system, an exciter and auxiliary systems as well as two driving turbines to be manufactured by Kaluga Turbine Works, member of Power Machines Group. In addition, Power Machines’ obligations include services on installation supervision and commissioning of the power equipment, which is scheduled for delivery in 2015.

Rigging the fourth power unit of Rostovskaya NPP is another step of Power Machines’ successful participation in upgrading NPP and its expansion. In 2007 Power Machines completed “turnkey” upgrade of the condenser pipe systems for a steam turbine produced by Turboatom OJSC at the second Rostovskaya NPP’s power unit, which was put into commercial operation in the end of 2010. As a result of the modernization the turbo-unit was equipped with a unique, unparalleled in Russia modular capacitor with titanium tubes. According to the results of its tests and commercial operation, the new capacitor has confirmed all the declared characteristics of its reliability and efficiency.

In December 2011 Power Machines also produced, tested and handed over to the customer a new turbogenerator for the third power unit of Rostovskaya NPP. Upon the customer’s request the generator was manufactured with an increased capacity – up to 1,100 MW. Previously the Company supplied two complete sets of 12 MW drive turbines for the third power unit of Rostovskaya NPP.
