OREANDA-NEWS. March 01, 2012. The board of directors of Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant Open Joint-Stock Company (ChelPipe) today announced the election of Yaroslav Zhdan as General Director and Alexander Fedorov as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Company. The appointments are effective from February 20.

Mr Zhdan has been working at ChelPipe since 2003. From 2004 to 2008, Zhdan founded and managed one of Russia’s largest metals trading companies, ChTPZ-Meta. Since 2008, Zhdan has worked as the Commercial Director of ChelPipe and served on the Board of Directors of the Company.

“Yaroslav Zhdan has proved himself as a strong manager who is able to rapidly achieve the goals set for him. Excellent knowledge of the Company and the specifics of the pipe market have enabled him to achieve significant results for the advancement of the Group,” noted Andrey Komarov, the primary shareholder of ChelPipe and co-chairman of the Foundation for the Development of the Pipe Industry.

Alexander Fedorov, who has headed ChelPipe since 1998, will concentrate on the strategic development of the business.

“One of the near-term priorities for me is the adoption of the new strategic development of the Company, as well as providing opportunities for realising the potential of each employee,” said Mr Zhdan.
