OREANDA-NEWS. March 01, 2012. Fujitsu has launched its Business Solutions Store in the UK, enabling Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) to create new revenue streams and respond to customer demand by extending their existing software to the cloud. A number of ISVs are already using the platform to grow their business and gain access to new markets and customers. Fujitsu is currently working with 20 ISVs in the UK with a view to increase this number to 50 by the end of 2012. It has also enabled over 100 ISVs globally to deliver their solutions via the cloud.

The Business Solutions Store is Fujitsu’s new ecosystem for business solutions in the cloud and uses a utility-based pricing model. The ground-breaking partnership allows ISVs to leverage the Fujitsu Global Cloud Platform to grasp business opportunities previously out of reach due to constraints of geography or cost. By partnering with Fujitsu, ISVs gain low-risk, fast-track access to new markets and opportunities, including access to the Fujitsu customer base – selling to end customers via Software as a Service (SaaS) and cloud business services.

Andrew Brabban, director of cloud services, Fujitsu UK&I said “With the new Business Solutions Store, we are taking the lead in enabling ISVs to find an easy path to the cloud. The message we are sending to ISVs is that Fujitsu provides unique partnering opportunities. We are removing the barriers of cost and risk with a programme that is backed by Fujitsu’s billion dollar-plus investment in cloud computing. The ISV community initiative is yet another example of Fujitsu being at the forefront of applying innovative technology to solve customer’s business issues.”

“As a leading Optimisation-as-a-Service vendor, we were looking for a partner we could really trust to help launch our cloud offering into new markets. We were attracted by Fujitsu’s reputation for reliability, uptime and security, but most important to us is that Fujitsu really understands how to collaborate with early stage high-tech companies and we admire their experience of getting innovative ISV’s exposed to valuable opportunities,” said Daniel Hulme, CEO of Satalia. “The Fujitsu Business Solution Store gives us the ability to manage costs carefully while ensuring our customers are getting two significant benefits – cutting-edge optimisation algorithms that will streamline their operations as well as the comfort in knowing that we have the backing and support of a global cloud leader. We completely trust Fujitsu with all of the infrastructure and merchanting processes, which means we can concentrate on our value-add with the end-customer.”

David McClellan, CEO, Tickethour UK – another ISV already signed up to the platform – said, “Fujitsu’s Business Solutions Store provides Tickethour UK with a strong route to market. We were looking for a partner that gave us flexibility, scalability, experience and security and Fujitsu ticks all these boxes. We are able to leverage the Fujitsu brand, adding an extra layer of credibility to the solution and its delivery and our customers benefit from the security of a “one stop shop” from a global brand like Fujitsu”.

“As part of Fujitsu’s Business Solutions Store, ISVs will be part of a network of businesses with access to a variety of skills and experiences across the ISV eco-system,” concluded Andrew Brabban. “This will be particularly true of the different sectors we intend to focus on moving forwards such as banking, retail and local government. We are committed to working with small and medium-sized enterprises – and we believe that this programme for the ISV community marks an important part of that commitment.”
