OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2012. The report of Chief Specialist of the Operation, Maintenance and Repairs Department Natalya Kimasheva dealt with the necessity of update and modernization of 35–110 kV transformers at transformer substations of IDGC of the North-West, JSC.


During February 28-29 Pskovenergo branch hosted a session of the Scientific and Technical Council of IDGC of the North-West, JSC under the guidance of Deputy General Director for Technical Issues – Chief Engineer Georgy Turlov. Among the members of the Scientific and Technical Council are Deputies to Chief Engineer of IDGC of the North-West, managers of technical units as well as chief engineers of all the branches of the power industry company.
 
The report of Chief Specialist of the Operation, Maintenance and Repairs Department Natalya Kimasheva dealt with the necessity of update and modernization of 35–110 kV transformers at transformer substations of  IDGC of the North-West, JSC. According to the data provided by Natalya Kimasheva, 69% of the more than a thousand 110 kV power transformers currently operated by IDGC of the North-West are overage. In 2008 the indicator value was 53%. Out of the 640 35 kV transformers 63% have outlived their 25 years’ useful life. In this connection all the branches of IDGC of the North-West have elaborated staged programs for update of the 35–110 kV transformer pool by 2022. They take into account transformers service life and operation conditions, the results of diagnostics as well as social significance of the power supply centers.

Head of the Diagnostics Administration of Komienergo branch Svetlana Vysogorets delivered report “New methods and methodologies for evaluation of operational transformer oils quality as a system of actions enhancing reliability of 35–110 kV power transformers under the condition of their operational expenditures reduction”.

Currently, IDGC of the North-West operates 1031 110-220 kV transformers, 69% of them having been in service for 25 years or longer, as well as 640 35 kV transformers, 63% whereof are outage. The Diagnostics Administration of Komienergo branch undertook a study of transformer oils as an element impact whereon can increase reliability of power transformers operation under financial expenditures optimization conditions. Head of the Diagnostics Administration of Komienergo branch suggested that the study results be made use of by all the branches of IDGC of the North-West.
