OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2012. Construction is expected to start at the end of 2012 on the second bridge spanning the Wuhu-section Yangtze River, local transport authorities.

The Wuhu Transport Bureau said they are awaiting approval of a feasibility report on the proposed project.

The bridge will connect Shijian in Wuwei county and the to-be-built expressway running along the north bank of the Yangtze River with Fanchang county's Eshan. It will be part of a planned freeway linking Jiangsu province's Xuzhou and Fuzhou, capital of Fujian province.

"We are busy preparing for the project to make sure the construction will begin by the end of this year," an official surnamed Shen said, adding that tentative designs and construction drawings will be created following the approval of the project.
