OREANDA-NEWS. March 05, 2012. Moscow Domodedovo Airport and Austrian Airlines celebrate the 5th anniversary of forming the partnership. For the abovementioned period Austrian Airlines operated about 5,5 thousand flights the passenger traffic of which increased 949 thousand passengers all handled at Domodedovo Airport.

“Welcoming of Austrian Airlines at Domodedovo has become a milestone in the airport – airline partnership. It enabled us to offer passengers a breakthrough product, a conjunction of developed route network across Europe based on by Austrian Airlines operation and unique transfer opportunities provided by Domodedovo. The success of the partnership is confirmed by the airline’s growing performance indicators whereas the potential for further cooperation advancement is obvious”, noted Igor Borisov, Director of Moscow Domodedovo Airport.

Back in 2007 Austrian Airlines launched its regular operation from Domodedovo Airport on Vienna – Moscow (Domodedovo) – Vienna route. Initially the frequency made 18 flights per week and was subsequently increased up to 21 flights per week. Furthermore, every winter season the airline enhances its Moscow – Austria flights and opens new direct flights to Innsbruck to the popular ski resorts.
