OREANDA-NEWS. March 06, 2012. The Government of the Republic of Korea issued a grant for US.5 million to Uzbekistan to implement a project “Master-class on decreasing losses at distribution of electricity, as well as introduction of automated system on control and accounting electricity and billing system in Navoi region”.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov approved measures on implementation of the project with his resolution.

In line with the resolution, the Governments of South Korea and Uzbekistan signed an agreement on allocation of grant for US.5 million to implement the project.

The document said that Uzbekenergo is execution agency of the project from Uzbekistani side, which is responsible for realization of the project “Master-class on decreasing losses at distribution of electricity, as well as introduction of automated system on control and accounting electricity and billing system in Navoi region”.

National Bank of Uzbekistan for Foreign Economic Relations is authorized bank, which will carry out operations due to grants of the Korean government.

President entrusted Uzbekenergo in cooperation with the Ministry for Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan to agree all necessary procedures to receive the grant.
