OREANDA-NEWS. March 07, 2012. Within the framework of visit of President of the Asian Bank of Development Kharuhkiko Kuroda to Uzbekistan, between the Government of Republic Uzbekistan and ADB the “Memorandum of Creation of the International Research Institute of Solar Energy” had been held providing allocation of 0 mln from ADB for realization of projects on development of solar power industry. It is one more step on a way of reforming of power sector, reported the press-centre of Uzbekenergo.

The legal and industrial base directed to the wide use of alternative energy sources is under creation in Uzbekistan. Technical and technological achievements of many leading energy companies are involved in realization of this program (for example, "Siemens"), and as financial resources of the international financial institutions (for example, the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, World Bank, the Asian Bank of Development, the Japanese Agency of International Cooperation LСА, Eximbank of Chinese People's Republic, etc.).

Work is conducted in close cooperation with experts of State Joint-stock Company "Uzbekenergo" and Physics-technical Institute NPO "Physics - Sun" of the Academy of Sciences of Uzbekistan. Thus, there is clear understanding of necessity of power consumption structure modification and increasing of the contribution of more safe and steady methods of energy generation among which renewed energy sources should be priority.

It should be emphasized that partner relations of Uzbekistan and ADB have highly constructive character. The evidence is the approval by the Asian Bank of 35 joint projects for the total sum USD 8,6 bln., where the share of ADB financing is more than ,8 bln. There are few of them below: - Within the framework of acceleration of the program of development of infrastructure, transport and communication construction for 2011-2015, the Loan Agreement for realization of railway tracks electrification at the site Marakand - Karshi for the sum 0 mln was signed; - In order to increase the power efficiency usage, in particular, for introduction of the automated monitoring system and accounting of the electric power, the Loan Agreement for the amount of 0 mln. was signed.

SJSC "Uzbekenergo" is the main investor for this project. Joint project AMS&AEP is the first stage of modernization of Power Industry. It will allow to carry on the accurate record of energy supplied to consumers on all line circuit system and as it will enable to reduce up to zero technological losses of energy.

According to experts, this innovational project will allow to save 2,75 bln kW per year; The international cooperation, and as a result, successful realization of these and other investment projects, certainly, can decrease sufficiently cost of technologies and facilities of energy transformation, to promote the further technical progress and economic growth in this area.
