OREANDA-NEWS. March 07, 2012. L&T Construction has won new orders valued over 1454 crore across various business segments in February and March 2012.

The Company's Water and Effluent Treatment business unit has secured new orders worth 579 crore from Tamil Nadu Water Supply & Drainage Board. The scope includes providing Combined Water Supply Scheme to Attur -Narsingpuram municipalities and The Vallore Corporation. The Scheme will cater to 20 town panchayats and 1345 rural habitations in Salem District and 11 municipalities, 5 town panchayats and 944 rural habitations in Vellore district.

The Power Transmission & Distribution IC has secured new orders in both domestic and international markets from reputed customers. Domestic orders worth 351 crore include construction of an electrical balance of plant works for a 2x660 MW super thermal power plant from a leading developer and another order from Gulbarga Electricity Supply Company Limited under RAPDRP (Part -B) scheme for various electrical works in Gulbarga and Bidar districts in Karnataka. International orders are valued at 320 crore for construction of a 132/11 kV Substation in Kuwait.

In Building & Factories IC, additional orders worth 204 crore have been bagged from various ongoing projects.
