OREANDA-NEWS. March 07, 2012. German company GP Papenburg and the South Korean POSCO Engineering and Constructions Co has been chosen as contractors for the project. 141 km of cement concrete pavement will be built on the highway A-380 Gusar-Bukhara-Nukus-Beineu. GP Papenburg will put into operation a 50 km road with durable coating, POSCO Engineering and Constructions Co will build 91 km.

The sources of financing projects worth 206.3 billion soums are means of the Republican Road Fund (37.1%) and Asian Development Bank loan (62.9%).

According to Uzavtoyo'l, rapid development of sectors of production, transport and engineering infrastructure is closely linked to programs implemented in country on the future development of industries and territories. The Uzbek government attaches great importance to the accelerated implementation of projects on construction and reconstruction of roads that are part of the Uzbek national highway: Beineu-Kungrad-Bukhara-Navoi-Samarkand-Tashkent-Andijan.

Program of contract works for the construction and reconstruction of public roads in 2012 provides for the reconstruction and construction of 501 kilometers. The proportion of roads with cement concrete pavement is 28.1%.

According to experts of road agencies, each type of road surface has its own characteristics. The undoubted advantage of asphalt roads is its plasticity.

The life of the road with cement concrete pavement is about three times longer and is up to 30 years subject to certain process parameters. Accordingly, its price increases.

Earlier it was reported that as part of the presidential Decree of December 12, 2010 "On the acceleration of infrastructure development, transport and communications construction in 2011-2015", by 2016 it is scheduled to build 474 kilometers of four-line roads with cement concrete pavement meeting the requirements of international standards in Uzbekistan.

According to Uzavtoyul, a network of public roads of the republic exceeded 42.6 thousand kilometers. In 2010 the share of roads with cement concrete pavement was 1%, 51% was asphalt, 42% - the black road, 6% - gravel.
