OREANDA-NEWS. March 12, 2012. The Rompetrol Group, via Rompetrol Bulgaria, will open by the end of April 10, new gas-stations in Bulgaria. Thus, the national network operated by Rompetrol Bulgaria will reach 70. At the same time, the company reported a growing interest from the white stations owner to join the Rompetrol network.

“The number of independent stations is around 70% of the total number of stations in the country. To operate in accordance with the changes in the Bulgarian legislation, concerning our industry, smaller fuel retailers might choose to partner with larger brand. A significant market shift might occur, and we are prepared to adapt to the new conditions and do business”, stated Stanimir Smilkov, Commercial Director, Rompetrol Bulgaria.

The total investment value accomplished by The Rompetrol Group in Bulgaria since 2007, when it was acquired by KazMunayGas Kazakhstan, amounts to over 32 million USD, the subsidiary registering during this period an expansion of its distribution network with 38 new stations. The Rompetrol Group operates at this time over 1,000 fuel distribution points in Romania, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria, Georgia, France, and Spain, with consolidation plans in Ukraine and Turkey.
