OREANDA-NEWS. March 14, 2012. More than 12,000 mobile payment terminals have been sold at PrivatBank’s offices as for February 1st, 2012. According to the bank press service, the volume of payments via the mini-terminals reached UAH100,000 per day, which is comparable with the turnover in POS-terminal network of a small bank.

"Mobile terminal is an extremely simple and effective solution for small and medium-size businesses, which significantly enhances the capabilities of businesses to receive payments" - said the PrivatBank Deputy Chairman Alexander Vityaz.

According to the bankers, in fact, this is the first real tool, which involves a huge segment of entrepreneurs and professionals in non-cash sales.

"This is the case when everybody wins: consumer-entrepreneur-bank-state-society, - Alexander Vityaz notes. – It is a pleasure to observe strong growth of card payments in taxis, private medical practices, groceries and merchandise markets - in entire sectors of economy, where only yesterday cash reigned. "

Mobile terminal is connected to a smartphone, tablet or PC through a headphone jack. You will need an iPay application, which can be downloaded for free from the bank website, and also at the AppStore or Android Market for receiving payment with cards Visa and MasterCard. The application is available for users of Windows, MacOS and Linux, iOS and Android.

The device costs UAH20 and this sum is reimbursed after receiving of the first payment. Thus, customers receive the mobile terminal actually for free. The fee for receiving payments when paying with a PrivatBank card is 1.5%, when paying with cards from other banks is 2.7%. The revenue is entered either in a card or a bank account depending on the customer's choice.
