OREANDA-NEWS. March 16, 2012. The modern pyrolysis furnace (item F-04) of SRT-VI type features higher throughput (up to 36.4 tons of gasoline per hour). The new furnace compares favourably with the old furnaces of SRT-I type by higher ethylene output per one pass which exceeds 30% (previously, 26%).

As part of the project realization, the existing furnace of SRT-I type has been dismantled at the site of the Monomer plant.  Foundation work is underway to enable further steel structure erection.

There exist plans to make tie-ins to the existing product pipelines during the total overhaul of EP-300 (ethylene/propylene) production facility in 2012 to enable further start-up of the pyrolysis furnace (item F-04) without suspension of production. Construction and assembly work is to be finished in 2012.

Gazprom neftekhim Salavat will invest about RUB 1.2 billion into the project.

Background information: The replacement of the pyrolysis furnace (item F-04) of SRT-VI type is one of the stages of expansion of the ethylene and propylene production facility up to 380 ktpa. The operation of EP-300 (ethylene & propylene production facility) is enabled by nine furnaces. As part of EP-300 Modernization project, the furnaces of items F-03, F-05 and F-06 were replaced. At present, the talks are held on further replacement of the pyrolysis furnace of item F-07.
