OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2012. A meeting devoted to performance of the Russian-Finnish projects of Entrepreneurship in the Countryside in Territory of the Republic of Karelia and Murmansk Region and The Concept of Agriculture Consulting and its Organization in the Northwest of Russia in 2011-2013 in 2011 took place in the Ministry of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia. Grigory Manuilov, Minister of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia, presided over the meeting.

Experts of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry of Finland and Ministry of Agriculture, Fish and Hunting Industry of the Republic of Karelia, Karelian Institute for Agriculture Personnel Retraining have taken part in work of the meeting.

Project managers and coordinators have told about seminars, working meetings, fact-finding trips and counselling held within the projects. Thus, last year Karelian entrepreneurs were able to get acquainted with modern experience of berry cropping in territory of neighbouring Finland. In turn, Finnish farmers have visited one of the potato cropping farms of Kondopoga region.

Participants of the meeting have pointed out efficient and fruitful cooperation within the scope of the ongoing projects, stated their offers and wishes on further cooperation, and came to the agreement on the plan of project implementation in 2012.

Thus, this year entrepreneurs will be offered seminars on berry cropping, sheep breeding, sport and amateur fishery, and hunting. The first of the seminars devoted to rural tourism development is held on March, 14-15. Fact-finding trips, issue of reference materials, individual counselling for entrepreneurs are also planned within the framework of these projects.
