OREANDA-NEWS. March 19, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company began paying insurance indemnity to the clients affected by the strongest hurricane in the Krasnodar Territory on February 07-09, 2012. As of the end of February, 43 applications of the insured were registered to payment for the damages caused by anomalous weather conditions. The majority of the insured events are connected with the vehicles damages caused by the fall of various things raised up into the air by a rush of wind. Besides, due to the adverse weather conditions – gusty wind, slush and sleet – a number of traffic accidents took place. The car owners whose vehicles had been insured with Ingosstrakh Insurance Company, have already began getting insurance indemnity for the repair of their cars.

As the result of the hurricane the building of the “Krasnaya Ploschad” shopping mall insured with Ingosstrakh Insurance Company was also damaged in Novorossiysk. Due to the rush of wind, the insolation lamp on the shopping mall roof partially broke. Separate structural elements crashed down into the building. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company acknowledged this situation to be an insured event. The compensation amount payable to the owner of the building is now being estimated.

We would remind you that from February 07 till February 09 five Kuban municipalities at one blow – Novorossiysk, Tuapse, Anapa, Gelendzhik and Temryuk District – found themselves in the hurricane area which turned out to be the strongest one in the last 40 years. The strength of wind reached 60 m/sec. The situation was aggravated by anomalous cold weather – in some areas the temperature reached minus 30 degrees below zero Celsius. Strong wind and frost led to numerous power lines tear down, residential houses and buildings were damaged by the hurricane, trees and advertising structures fell. Emergency situation regime was announced in Novorossiysk which took the heat of the hurricane. According to the preliminary calculations, the damage caused by the element approximately amounts to 600 mln rubles.
