OREANDA-NEWS. March 20, 2012. Ingosstrakh Insurance Company has made an insurance indemnity to one of the Russian top banks in the amount of 4 mln roubles in connection with the breaking of ATMs by culprits and the theft of the cash contained in them.

According to the accident which took place in the end of 2011, the law enforcement authorities have initiated a criminal case subject to Article 161 Part 2 (cl. “a”, “c”, and “d”) of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (robbery of a large scale, forcibly committed by a group of persons). In accordance with the documents submitted by the insurant, unidentified persons penetrated into the building of one of Moscow educational institutions at night and tied up the guard. Then the culprits opened the safes of the ATMs on the first floor of the building with an unidentified tool, stole the cash contained there, and escaped the scene of crime (locus delicti). Subject to the conclusion of a specialized organization, the ATMs have been declared unserviceable and subject to the write-off.

Upon the determination of all incident circumstances and receipt of all necessary document from the insurant, Ingosstrakh Insurance Company acknowledged this situation to be an insured event. According to the policy conditions the indemnity has been paid both for the stolen cash and damaged ATMs which had been insured subject to the program of insurance of ATMs and cash available in them. The insurance coverage provides for the compensation of losses including those resulting from the malicious acts of the third parties, theft with an illegal invasion, robbery, and brigandage.
