OREANDA-NEWS. March 22, 2012. Ordinary shares of JSC “Platform UTINET.RU” and JSC  “Nauka-Svyaz” have been included in the constituent list of the MICEX Innovation Index effective from March 16, 2012 after a regular revision of the Index was carried out taking into account recommendations of the MICEX Stock Exchange Index Committee.

As a result, the MICEX Innovation Index will be calculated by stocks of ten innovative companies admitted to trading on the MICEX-RTS Innovation and Investment Market.

Presence of ten issuers in the Index allows establishing index funds.

According to Gennady Margolit, Executive Director of the MICEX-RTS IIM, the MICEX Innovation Index has been becoming the most important indicator to track the performance of the innovative sector of the Russian economy.

The MICEX Innovation Index (MICEX INNOV) is a capitalization-weighted index comprised of stocks of Russian companies admitted to trading on Innovation and Investment Market of MICEX Stock Exchange. The base value of the Index is 1,000 points as of December 29, 2009.

MICEX Innovation and Investment Market (IIM) is a sector for high technology companies, created by the MICEX together with ROSNANO.

At the moment there are 23 companies of innovation sector traded in IIM including 7 venture funds with a total capitalization value of RUB40.6 billion.

The Innovation and Investment Market consists of three major segments for companies at different maturity and capitalization levels, as well as for different investor groups:

Innovation and Investment Market (IIM): A sector where innovative companies may issue IPOs/SPOs or launch secondary circulation of securities under any MICEX trading rules.

IIM-2 sector: Sets rules for private placements using stock market technology and listings. Secondary circulation is aimed at qualified investors and based on the trading technology intended for trading of large blocks of shares (under the Rules for Negotiated Transactions).

IIM-Board: A web information sector aimed at creating mechanisms of attracting investments by young innovative companies.
