OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2012. The intention to increase the selling price for Moldova was expressed by both electric power suppliers of Moldova. The hydro power plant, located in the region of Transdniestria and owned by INTER RAO UES, offers Moldova electricity at a price of 7,3 cents/ 1 kWh.

The price offered by DTK Power Trade, Ukraine, is 7,5 cents/ 1 kWh . In Q1 both suppliers are selling to Moldova’s electricity distribution networks at 6,1 cents/ 1 kWh. Electricity for consumers living in the central and southern parts of Moldova is purchased by Gas Natural Fenosa, whereas Energocom purchases electricity for state –owned Northern and North-Western electricity distribution networks, Valeriu Lazar reminded.

According to him, the ministry of economy thoroughly monitors the situation. The Moldovan party does not agree with the increase in the purchasing price and thinks it ungrounded. The government is considering opportunities to purchase electricity from other states, including Romania.
