OREANDA-NEWS. March 23, 2012. Internationally recognized leading and practicing experts have joined the teaching staff of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO. Within the framework of the SKOLKOVO  business school Energy Centre and BP’s joint programme, Julian Lee, Ken-Wook Paik, Manfred Hafner and Jonathan Stern, have become new teachers at the SKOLKOVO Business School. The above mentioned professionals, who are very well known in the energy expert society and have vast experience in research, consultancy, and teaching activities in the oil and gas industry, will hold a series of training sessions in 2012 during which SKOLKOVO business school students will study the current development trends of the world energy.   

The invited experts, who work for competent research institutes, will teach at the SKOLKOVO business school, while keeping their principal place of business.

Mr. Lee is a senior analyst at the Centre for Global Energy Studies located in London. He is one of the Centre’s pioneers, who took part in its foundation.  The scope of his competence is the analytical research of the global oil and gas market, geopolitical aspects of the oil and gas industry, the oil and gas sectors of the former USSR and African countries located to the South of Sahara.

Professor Hafner heads the International Energy Consultants Company (IEC) and directs research in the field of the energy policy at Fondazione Eni Enrico Mattei (FEEM), the Italian Research Institute; also he lectures at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, USA,) and specializes in the field of energy scenarios and formation of energy resources demand.

Dr. Paik is a senior research fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, some of his research commitments relate to the North-East Asia and cover the gas industry of the region, the cooperation between China and Russia related to the gas sector, the economic and political aspects of pipeline projects, the development of the North-Korean shelf, including other aspects of the regional energetics.

Professor Jonathan Stern also works at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, where he supervises the Institute’s Gas Program. He is engaged in a wide range of issues related to the global gas industry, including governmental regulation of energy companies’ activities and their strategies amid the ongoing liberalization of the market, as well as gas issues concerning Europe, the countries of the former Soviet Union and other regions.

“The worldwide known experts have joined the teaching process. This is another step in further enhancing the attractiveness of the Business School for current and future students,” announced Rector of the Moscow School of Management SKOLKOVO Andrei Volkov. “And at the same time, the cooperation of the Business School with the professors invited within the framework of the partnership relations with the British Petroleum Company is not limited to delivering the educational programmes. Our guests will actively participate in the research and the Energy Centre’s roundtables scheduled for the spring and autumn of 2012,” added Director of the SKOLKOVO business school Energy Centre Grigory Vygon.
