OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2012. In January-February, 2012 the volume of cargo transpiration made up 823,6 thou. t. in Moldova, that is 27,7% less than in the same period in 2011. According to the National Bureau of Statistics, by motor vehicles it was transported 397,4 thou. t. of cargo, 9% down as compared with the same period in 2011.

The biggest portion in the total volume of cargo transportation fell to carriers of Chisinau and Balti, being 64,9% and 9,6% respectively. They are followed by the region of Nisporeni– 4,2%, the region of Taraclia – 3%, the region of Orhei – 2,6%, the region of Ialoveni– 2,3%, the region of Hincesti – 1,9%, the region of Anenii Noi– 1,9%. By rail ways it was transported 419,5 thou. t, 39,5% down as compared with the like period in 2011.

The biggest portion of cargoes loaded at railway stations fell to grains and flour products and iron and scratch metals, being 38,8% and 15,7% in January-February, 2012 against 64,8% and 10,4% in the same period of 2011 respectively. They are followed by building materials and cement which made up 8,7% (2,6%). it was transported 0,3 thou. tonn (+30,6%) by air transport; 0,01 thou. t. by river transports.

In February, 2012 the volume of cargo transportation made up 401,4 thou. in Moldova, 4,9% down as compared with January and 39,2% down as compared with February, 2011.
