OREANDA-NEWS. March 26, 2012. Zaporizhzhya region’s sustainable development depends on the complex development of agriculture, President Viktor Yanukovych said at a meeting with the administrative and economic leadership of Zaporizhzhya region.

"We would like to see a real program of agrarian sector development," he said, noting that little attention is paid in Zaporizhzhya region to developing animal husbandry.

According to the President, a way to solve this problem could be introducing investment projects to construct and rebuild farms.

Viktor Yanukovych also drew attention to the problems in land reform, particularly the inefficient process of delimitation of land in state and municipal property. "Less than 1% of land has been delimited. Last year, the local authorities have not adopted a single decision in this area. Therefore, there is urgent need to intensify these efforts," he said.
