OREANDA-NEWS. March 27, 2012. Co-compiled by Baltic International Bank and invited experts, the TOP List  reveals the most significant investment events witnessed in the CIS/ Baltic region during the second half of 2011, reported the press-centre of BIB.

Russia’s accession to the WTO ranks number one on the BIB Selection Top 21. The top three of most important events also includes Russia’s State Duma elections and completion of the final review of Latvia’s performance under the IMF/EU rescue program. Please be reminded that  Estonia’s changeover to the euro (accession to the eurozone), devaluation of the Belarusian ruble, and Russia’s MICEX-RTS merger deal were first-half 2011 top-ranked events, according to our experts.

On BIB Selection List (the rankings based on the opinions from 21 experts), the most pivotal economic, social and legislative processes and investment deals are ranked in order of importance.

The TOP List BIB Selection will be prepared half-yearly. The material provided on the List may serve as a guideline, albeit an informative one. The List gives an overview of the investment environment, reveals the trends impacting the environment, and may therefore prove helpful for evaluating the economic processes.
